EDITORIAL — COPYWRITING, PRINT READY PUBLICATION LAYOUT

As a lover of fashion, writing, and magazines, I took on the challenge of creating a dynamic publication inspired by WIRED Magazine, MEAL, and Alexey Brodovitch’s innovative combination of photography and typography. As a senior graduating from CSP, and being the photography editor for the school’s newspaper, I didn’t get the chance to write for the final issue of school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Taking on this project, became a fun opportunity to write three articles thoroughly, create and art direct the photography, as well as design the final layout. To hint further at the pandemic uncertainty, a distorted view of reality was achieved through the artwork on the front and back covers, the final product resulted in the creation of a three spread magazine sharing articles written on the coronavirus, and a quick shoe cleaning tutorial for people who run out of things to do while they’re spending some extra time at home. The imagery used was all taken by me, for the exception of the back cover image which was shot by Kurt Iswarienko.
